North-eastern Poland’s window covering market is dominated by RollHouse. Its extensive range of window covering products, professional consultancy services and years of experience have made it one of the top regional window covering companies. A strong feature of RollHouse’s range of products is the screen Hema Zip, manufactured by Akant. Over several years, RollHouse has made it into its flagship product. How did this happen? Let us explain.
The Warmia and Masuria region is full of enrapturing sights. For 9 years, RollHouse has been running its two retail shops here in Masuria – in Olsztyn and Elbląg. Initially, its product range has only included internal coverings. However, over time, the product range has been expanded with more and more options – including external window and patio coverings.
- Screens have been included in my product range thanks to Akant’s adviser who visited me back at my old headquarters in Olsztynek,” says Daniel Szcześniak, owner of RollHouse. “It was he who helped me take my first steps into the world of screens and comprehensively trained me in their operation. I think he saw in me some potential I wasn’t aware of yet myself back then. Shortly after expanding our product range with the new product, we got our first order for screens, which the adviser of the covering manufacturer was very helpful with; and that’s how our cooperation started.
Hema Zip is a unique product on the external window covering market. Its fabric has been designed specifically to limit heat radiation by as much as 97% and reduce solar radiation by 75%. This significantly increases your comfort when staying indoors during heatwaves, which also saves you money on air conditioning.
- The uniqueness of screens lies not only in their excellent interior protection against high temperature and solar exposure,” explains Tomasz Witczak, Commercial Director at Akant Sp. z o. o., “Hema is set apart by its ability to provide thermal comfort while also providing access to daylight and outside view. Of course, our product range also includes blackout fabrics. Selection of the so-called opening factor depends on the individual needs of a Customer,” he adds. “It is worth noting that external screens not only have a functional value, which is doubtlessly their great advantage, but are also characterised by their aesthetics, giving a modern shape to buildings using such solutions, which are set apart in the public space by their unique design customised to match any decor.
So what are the needs of RollHouse’s Customers? The company’s owner explains that the main reason why his Customers decide to purchase Hema Zip is the overheating of their flats and houses. Many architects and developers, already knowing the window exposure at the design stage, decide to install RollHouse’s screens.
- By limiting the need to use air conditioning and thus electricity, a screen is an eco-friendly solution, which is why it is popular among supporters of ecology,” explains Daniel Szcześniak from RollHouse. “However, screens are not used only in modern architecture. Some of our Customers are elderly people, who find overheated interiors particularly oppressive and even detrimental to their health and well-being. They invest their savings in screens, which we install on plastic windows in flats. It is very satisfying to hear from such people that our coverings definitely make them feel better and that the optimal temperature at their home is good for their health.
People are the most important to RollHouse – both Customers and employees. The former have been prioritised by the company from the onset of its activities. The owner explains that it is, in a way, thanks to the Customers, whose expectations he has been striving to meet from the very beginning, that the company can offer such a wide range of coverings. However, all of that would not have been possible without the well-coordinated team he boasts. For years, the company has had a stable and very experienced installer team with impeccable manners.
One of RollHouse’s most recent screen-related projects was the covering of all windows of an accommodation facility currently being built in Jabłonka by Lake Omulew. Surrounded by greenery, the architecture of the building combines modernity and tradition. Its façade is a juxtaposition of red brick and raw concrete, which make a well-matched pair. The building uses Hema ZIP with the grey-black fabric Serge 108118, which perfectly matches the building’s architecture. The opening factor of the fabric is 1%, which means that it does not completely cover the attractive outside view and does not limit access to daylight, whilst ensuring privacy and thermal comfort.
RollHouse has all of Akant’s Hema screens in its product range. Various installation methods, control options and wide range of fabrics with diverse parameters enable RollHouse’s retail shops in Elbląg and Olsztyn to offer to the regional market premium coverings tailored to individual needs.
